Leaky valve cover... OH NO, What do I do? John and Jim come to my rescue!
Well, last week when I told John one of my valve cover bolt holes was stripped and one of my valve covers was leaking oil I never expected him and Jim to spring into action to help me out. They drove over an hour to fix my ride. They quickly evaluated the problem and came up with a plan to fix it. They decided that the best option was to drill and tap the hole. We had to drive around a little to find everything we needed for the job and after stopping at Home Depot, Autozone and Ace Hardware we picked up new bolts, a tap and a drill bit.
While the valve cover was off I noticed one of the roller rockers nuts was not tight… Jim fixed it and checked/adjusted the other rockers. John drilled out and tapped the hole. Honestly, I was nervous about tapping the hole because I was worried about the tap breaking in the hole and causing me major problems. John kept his cool and drilled the hole, while Jim verified that the drill was perpendicular with the head. When all was said and done… no more leaky valve cover.
THANK YOU JOHN THANK YOU JIM
I appreciate your help!!!
The Camaro is almost ready to be driven and thanks to them, I’m one step closer to parking my ride next to other burnoutbox members at the local shows.
