picked up another barn find...

picked up a 73 ventura 2 door , 49k original miles , elderly woman owned it until she passed away in 1994 , been off the road since.

pretty solid car .

as you can see in the pics it has a dent in the pass 1/4 panel and it has a few isolated rust issues - the rear filler/tail panel is rusty and the drivers floor pan where aparently a plastic gallon bottle had been sitting since it was parked and degraded until it leaked and took out the floor in about a 6-8 inch area. the rest of the floors are good , the trunk floor,  lower quarters , rear subframe , rockers , are all excelllent.

rear tail panel , nose , bumpers can make this body a 68-72 nova clone too but the nose is pretty darn nice hmmm.

car is a manual drum brakes ,radio delete , rubber floors ,poverty hubcap stripper with a 250 inline/straight 6 and a powerglide. guy I got it from claimed to have someone that would give him $800 for the 6 banger & trans but I will believe that when I see it lol ( yes I asked for the guys number or give him mine)

dont ask me what I am going to do with it cause I dont know ha ha park it with the rest for now of course if someone wants to throw me $3,000 for it as is I would part with it otherwise I will collect parts it needs... gotta grab a sbc from a buddy that could end up in it , got a couple 15x8 vette style rallys , anybody got a couple more 15x 7 or 15x8 ???

thanks for thinking of me on the wheels but I just picked up a couple more rally wheels today and finally took it off the trailer and gave it a bath - it is not as nice as it looks in these pics and I need to get tires mounted on my other rallys for the other side but its always nice to do this to see the potential a car has to look decent - this is what I saw when I bought it lol

wow good chase scene. that ventura has the sprint nose on it and dual sport mirrors , wooo sweet !!

the big blue barge looks like a 71 grand ville , had a 2 door like it with 455/t400 that was puff back in the late 80's....

Real car chases on real streets .Not that CG bullshit they try to pawn off as action today. The original Gone In 60 Seconds is a masterpiece done on a low budget buy a handfull of car guys.

thanks for taking the time to link , but 68-72 quarters mate up to a different roofline , rear glass , interior panels etc... the nose from a 68-72 nova will bolt right on which is what happens to a lot of restorable venturas - they get turned into nova's

I am historically a chevy guy but am trying to resist the urgeto make a nova clone because A. the ventura nose in in good shape , B the tall tail panel on 73/74 novas & venturas looks better to me with the stacked thin tail lights of the ventura C. as mentioned you dont see many of them around and I like its overall exterior appearance including color.

last weekend I picked up a set of wheels for one of my Z's and the guy I got them from had said of all the cars he had them on they looked best on his 70 nova so I threw them on the ventura temporarily , drop the nose a bit and shrink the bumpers and I would really be diggin it:
